Day 34 of 100 Happy Gaming Days: Looney Tunes B-Ball

Looney Tunes B-Ball is a basket ball game for the SNES, starring all of your favourite Looney Tunes characters.

When the game starts you're treated to a little animation where Bugs and Daffy are wrapping up a set and for some reason challenge each other to a basket ball game. I thought Space Jam may have been released around the same time, but after doing some research I found Looney Tunes B-Ball had been released a year prior to Space Jam.

Either way it doesn't matter because basketball is great fun when some Looney Tunes branded insanity is injected into the mix. Each character has their own unique style and move-set, for example Bugs will reenact his classic drag act to distract the other players, while Yosemite Sam will attempt to riddle the opposing team with bullets.

You can use weapons as well such as cream pies, bombs and 16 ton weights that fall from the sky, but if using underhanded tactics to achieve victory isn't your thing you can simply turn down the 'Wacky-Meter' which prevents weapon availability. Personally, I can't see any point in doing this because if you don't want weapons you may as well play a regular basketball game, but the options there should you wish to use it.

Another thing about B-Ball is that the difficulty level is insanely hard! I think I've only ever made it through the first round of the tournament mode, and even then I was lucky, so if you're a glutton for humorous punishment then B-Ball is for you. There's also a multiplayer option available however, if you like to dish out hilarious punishment to your friends.

A great game for Looney Tunes and Basketball fans alike.
